Dear guests:

Although the SK’s encourage you to take public transit, we know that this is not an option for everyone.  Here is the information from the Second Unitarian Church’s webpage on parking/driving to the church:

“We are lucky to be located in the active and dynamic Lakeview neighborhood; however, street parking can be difficult.  There is not a parking lot at the church, but you can park for free at the Illinois Masonic Parking Garage which is just a short walk from the church!

  • You can park on any of the streets around Barry Ave. that are labeled with the 386 permit sign during the day without having to use a permit: Barry Ave., Briar Ave. (one block north of Barry), Wellington (several blocks south of Barry Ave.
  • You can park at a meter in the surrounding streets.
  • Park for free in the Illinois Masonic Parking Garage (map below) during Sunday worship hours with the use of a chaser ticket obtained at church.  Please park in #4 (East Parking Garage) which is on Halsted between Barry and Wellington. This free option is only available during Sunday worship and programming hours.

Driving Directions

Kennedy Expressway (I-94), exit at Belmont – which is Kimball Avenue Exit 45B from the north & Belmont Ave. Exit 45C from the south – drive east on Belmont about 3 miles, then turn right (south) on Clark and drive about 2 blocks to the big 3-way intersection of Clark, Halsted and Barry, (Sports Authority and Walgreens on your right, and CVS and LaSalle Bank on your left). Go through the intersection then immediately turn left on Barry in between the CVS and LaSalle Bank.

Lake Shore Drive, exit at Belmont, drive west about 3 stoplights to Clark. Turn left (South) on Clark and drive about 2 blocks to the big 3-way intersection of Clark, Halsted and Barry, (Sports Authority and Walgreens on your right, and CVS and LaSalle Bank on your left).
